Method of manufacturing a composite molded article having the undercut of the present invention, (i) the average fiber length is produced by a non-impregnated precursor containing carbon fibers and a thermoplastic resin in the range of 1~100㎜, heating and pressing the impregnated precursor and, (ⅱ), and heating the impregnated precursor to above the melting temperature of the thermoplastic resin, (ⅲ) the place the heated impregnated precursor, in a mold having an undercut mechanism and, (ⅳ) after operating the undercut mechanism or operation and at the same time to form close (型 締), and pressing the impregnated precursor, (v) type opening (型 開), followed by (取出) bringing the complex formed body by operating again the undercut mechanism, from said mold open type, by including the respective steps, it is possible to easily produce a composite molded article of a complicated shape having an undercut portion.
