Performed by a magnetic field oriented accordingly it provides a method for preparing a rare earth permanent magnet and a rare earth permanent magnet with improved magnetic properties of the permanent magnet. Pulverizing the magnet raw material with the magnetic powder, and produces a mixture by mixing the pulverized magnet powder and a binder. And, by molding the resulting mixture with a long sheet-shaped, to produce a green sheet (13). Then, a green sheet 13, if subjected to a magnetic field oriented by applying a magnetic field to the longitudinal direction while in the direction in the width direction or side, yet within the direction of the green sheet 13, before the molded green sheet 13 dry by sintering is configured to prepare a permanent magnet (1).
