A method of operating the memory modules and memory modules are inserted into the mapping information within the blocks of the memory cell of the block belonging to the mapping information. In particular, when the page is written to a logical block of data, the page includes a brief information about the current mapping information for a logical data block. In this way, the last valid physical page in the logical block of data will pose a physical / logical mapping of the block. Thus, instead of scanning all the available pages in the memory device to reconstruct the mapping information, a memory module may scan only for the last valid physical page in each of the logical data block. Once when the last valid physical page is found for the logical data blocks, the most up-to-date mapping information for the logical blocks of data it can be read from this page.
