The electro-optical device includes a predetermined thickness, a first electro-optic crystal having a surface and a second surface. In addition, the electro-optical device further includes a first electrode substrate disposed opposite the first surface. The first electrode substrate includes a first electrode coupled to the first coating a substrate material and a first substrate material having a first thickness. The electro-optical device further includes a second electrode substrate arranged opposite to the second surface. A second electrode substrate includes a second electrode coupled to a second coating a substrate material and a second ceramic material having a second thickness. The electro-optical device further comprises a first electrode coating and a voltage source electrically connected to the second electrode coating.
