It provides a high concentration of the agriculturally active ingredient (AI) and the parent material and the method for the formation of microcapsules containing the oil-based polymer encapsulated in a polymeric shell formed by interfacial polycondensation reaction. Under some conditions, these microcapsules may be formed using a less hydrophobic solvent than is needed from using conventional microencapsulation techniques. This is the method of the invention includes forming the oil-in-water emulsion with the first polymer as a lipophilic solvent for AI in some cases, to form a microcapsule containing the polymer and AI. Another method comprises a lipophilic monomer, agriculturally active ingredient and an initiator, and a step, and then, the method comprising: by raising the temperature to initiate polymerization of the monomer with the microcapsules to form microcapsules having a polymeric shell.
