PURPOSE: An intake and exhaust valve of an engine having a seat surface in which durability is improved is provided to arrange multiple grooves to a radial shape along a circumferential direction around a middle point of a valve head on a valve seat surface contacted with a valve seat equipped in a cylinder head of an induction port side or an exhaust port side of an engine. CONSTITUTION: An intake and exhaust valve of an engine having a seat surface in which durability is improved comprises a valve seat surface. Multiple grooves are arranged to a radial shape along a circumferential direction around a middle point (M) of a valve head on a valve seat surface contacted with a valve seat equipped in a cylinder head of an induction port side or an exhaust port side of an engine. A circumferential arrangement gap (θ) of the multiple grooves arranged in a radial shape is less than 15°.
