PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for obtaining shape information, material information, and lighting information in an image modeling system are provided to compose a virtual object and a real image by extracting light condition and material information. CONSTITUTION: An optical image reception unit(310) receives images for an object which receives pattern light. A frequency confirmation unit(320) confirms a plurality of frequency bands for the pattern light from the images. A code assignment unit(330) assigns a plurality of code values classifying a surface of the object based on one or more reflection light for each frequency band. A surface point obtaining unit(340) classifies surface points of the object based on a plurality of the code values.
