PURPOSE: A negative electrode active material is provided to prevent the volume change at charging and discharging, thereby improving the cycle lifetime property of a lithium secondary battery. CONSTITUTION: A negative electrode active material comprises a first silicon oxide(SiOx) and a second silicon oxide(SiOx) which has a different particle diameter with the first silicon oxide(SiOx). The surface area of the first silicon oxide to the second silicon oxide is 3-8. A lithium secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a current collector, and a negative electrode which comprises a negative electrode active material formed on the current collector, and an electrolyte impregnating the positive electrode and negative electrode.
