Multi-system for representing more than one bit of information in the user data symbol for transmission each symbol of the multiple symbols using the multi-level transmission channel is used for level encoding. User data symbols are represented as a digital bit-wise shape, each symbol is shown as a plurality of bits and is to undergo the different error probability that each bit. Error correction procedure is applied based on the different error probability that is associated with each bit of a plurality of bits. The channel can be configured to support a mosaic tile structure, each tile including a channel symbol, and has a different set of selected tiles and other tiles of error probability. The customized encoding to the tile structure can be applied to assign a selected amount of error correction capability to the selected tile, based on the total available fertility.
