PURPOSE: A method and a system for automatically controlling building illumination are provided to accurately control illumination according to the moving path of a user by widely setting the controlling range of an illumination switch. CONSTITUTION: An identification(ID) recognizing unit(10) recognizes the ID of a user. Identification recognizing units are installed at entrances. The ID recognizing unit recognizes the ID of the user who enters the entrance. A building managing server(30) manages facilities such as illumination lamps, electronic devices, and network. A light illumination switch(50) implements a switching function for controlling the illumination of the building. Communication network(40) secures a path for transmitting and receiving data between ID recognizing unit, the light illumination switch, and the building managing server.
