PURPOSE: An image scanning apparatus and a method thereof are provided to scan a document using a plurality of scan units. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of scan units(160,170) are placed on a corresponding location based on a scan target object moving trace. A user interface unit(120) receives a scan command. A supply unit(150) makes the scan object to pass the scan units. A control unit(180) controls to the scan objects by turns using the scan units. A storage unit(130) separately stores the scanned image.
