이식한 세포의 기능 소실의 주된 원인으로 세포의 생존율 저하를 들 수 있고 이를 해결하기 위해 세포 보호를 목적으로 캡슐화를 시도하고 있지만, 캡슐화된 세포의 저산소 상태 등으로 인해 이식 성과가 좋지 않았다. 본 발명은 산소 운반체로서 퍼플루오르카본 화합물의 에멀전을 캡슐 내에 도입함으로써 캡슐 내 산소의 확산을 용이하게 하여 저산소 배양 시에도 캡슐 내의 세포 생존율을 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 발명에 따른 세포 이식용 캡슐은 저산소 상태에 대한 내성을 가짐으로써 세포 이식 성과의 향상에 기여할 수 있다.
