PURPOSE: A terminal and a control method thereof are provided to efficiently perform a waterproofing function with various settings of a power control mode according to a battery charging status. CONSTITUTION: A sensing unit(140) senses water or moisture. A solar cell unit(191) includes a plurality of solar cells and a rechargeable battery. A battery unit(192) charges with electric energy. If a sensing signal is transmitted from the sensing unit, a controller(180) controls each operation state of the battery unit and the solar cell unit according to the charge of the solar cell unit.
