The present invention relates to a magnetic positioning system for use in inductive coupling. Magnetic positioning system provides sufficient magnetic force, but has a magnet that does not have sufficient electrical conductivity to cause overheating in the presence of the anticipated electromagnetic field. Self-adhesive magnets or magnet can be shielded magnet. In another aspect, the plurality of magnets may be used to magnetic attraction that cooperate to align the inductive power supply and the remote device and provide a magnetic repulsive force. In another embodiment, the sensor allows for a differentiation between the remote device or another location of the inductive power supply. In another embodiment, the plurality of magnets of the inductive power supply has a plurality of magnets interacts with the remote device to a remote device positioned in a different location.
