PURPOSE: A fault detecting method of an electronic parking brake system is provided to enable a fault to be accurately detected under low or high temperature condition since a brake force sensor has different outputs depending on the temperature change. CONSTITUTION: A fault detecting method of an electronic parking brake system comprises the next steps. The brake force is measured which is applied to a parking cable during operation of an electronic parking brake. The estimated brake force is detected which is able to be generated by the electric energy applied by the electronic parking brake. The fault of the electronic parking brake system is detected by the comparison of the measured brake force with the estimated brake force. The estimated brake force is detected by an estimated temperature.
