PURPOSE: An Al-Si-Mg based aluminum alloy excellent in machinability and a producing method of the same are provided to prevent damage to processing tools and the rolling of chips in processing. CONSTITUTION: An Al-Si-Mg based aluminum alloy comprises Si 1.2~1.4 weight%, Mg 0.6~0.75 weight%, Sn 0.8~1.0 weight%, Mn 0.50~0.70 weight%, Fe 0.001~0.50 weight%, Cu 0.01~0.10 weight%, Cr 0.01~0.25 weight%, Zn 0.01~0.20 weight% and the rest of Al and impurity. A manufacturing method of the Al-Si-Mg system aluminum alloy comprises next steps. The alloy composition for aluminum alloy is prepared. The composition for the aluminum alloy is manufactured after the continuous casting with a billet. The manufactured billet is taken under homogenizing heat treatment.
