A sensing ball game machine (10) has a game unit (12) connected to a television monitor (18). A bat-shaped input unit (32) has an acceleration sensor. An infrared LED (34) transmits an acceleration signal to an infrared receiving section of the game unit (12). The game unit (12) determines the speed of the bat-shaped input unit (32). From the speed, a moment parameter of the ball struck is calculated. Therefore, on the game screen, the struck ball moves according to the parameter.
