A desulfurization device for a fuel gas in a fuel cell containing a sulfur compound is provided to perform desulfurization processes of various sulfur compounds, including thiophene compounds and mercaptan compounds, in a highly efficient and economical manner. A desulfurization device for a fuel gas in a fuel cell containing a sulfur compound comprises: a first adsorption tank containing an adsorbent having selectivity adsorption capability for thiophene compounds, the first adsorption tank being installed upstream of the device; and a second adsorption tank containing an adsorbent having selective adsorption capability for mercaptan compounds, the second adsorption tank being installed downstream of the device. The first adsorption tank includes Na-Y zeolite, and the second adsorption tank includes Ag-Y zeolite.
