PURPOSE: To provide a filter or a duplexer that can very effectively suppress a power loss by an edge effect of a line with a desired filter characteristic and can entirely be downsized and to provide a communication unit provided with the filter or the duplexer. CONSTITUTION: Multiple spiral lines 20a, 20b, 20c are placed on an upper side of a dielectric board 1 and a ground electrode 3 is formed on a lower side to configure a 3-stage multiple spiral resonator. The 1st stage provides a right- handed rotatory resonator and the 2nd and 3rd stages provide left-handed rotatory resonators. Thus, an attenuation pole is produced on the high frequency side of the pass band.
