A method for processing one or a mixture of the microorganism with a carbon compound that is easily decomposed by the microorganisms in the form of the more volatile fatty acids (VFAs) is disclosed. The method derives a mixture microorganisms to release, phosphorus and magnesium are added to the treated mixture to produce a reduction such that the phosphorus / magnesium-rich liquid and phosphorus / magnesium, the mixture to be concentrated. To position in the thus-treated mixture is anaerobic digestion tank, where ammonia is produced, but there is very little phosphorous or magnesium combined. Then, the high-ammonia mixture is dewatered to produce ammonia-rich liquid. The ammonia-rich liquid is combined with the reaction, and the phosphorus and magnesium-rich liquid to form struvite. In a preferred embodiment, VFAs are created upstream of the fermented and concentrated (UFAT) process unified field (in situ) and added to the waste stream portion (waste sidestream) to remove the phosphorus and magnesium. The possible struvite product is recovered in a further preferred embodiment.
