PURPOSE: A fast auto focus control device and a method thereof are provided to perform stereo matching about an interest area to extract a focus parameter at each frame by referring to a lookup table about depth information of the interest area, thereby controlling a focus. CONSTITUTION: A stereo matching unit(120) calculates depth information of an interest side and a photographing side of a camera(110). A histogram generating unit(130) generates a histogram. A control unit(150) determines depth information whose number is largest in the histogram as final depth information. The control unit determines a focus distance by referring to a lookup table about the determined final depth information. The control unit adjusts the focus of the camera by driving a motor according to the focus distance.
