摘要：
A system for storing broadcast programmes for future transmission to subscribers comprising means for receiving broadcast channel data comprising a plurality of programmes and means for storing at a known position the received programmes wherein service information is extracted from the broadcast channel data and is stored with data identifying the position on the storage means of the corresponding programme. Means for checking a subscriber is authorised to receive a programme using an event id may be included. Also disclosed is a system for allowing a user to select a programme from a schedule and receive that programme via a unicast session and a system which having long and short term archives of broadcast programmes which may be accessed by permitted subscribers.
