The apparatus includes a die 12 having at least one applicator slot (48). Slot is in fluid communication with a die cavity (44). Expansible chamber device 42 is disposed within the die cavity and changes volume in response to change in pressure within the expansible chamber device. Another aspect of the invention is a method for delivering a liquid through a die. The coating die is provided. The die includes at least one slot to exchange the die cavity with the fluid. Expansible chamber device is disposed within the die cavity. Expansible chamber device is activated by the fluid pressure changes within the expansible chamber device. The liquid is then passed through a die, in response to the activation of the expansible chamber device with a time interval is transferred from the applicator slot. Another aspect of the invention is a method for forming a die. The die cavity and the apparatus comprising a die having at least one applicator slot to exchange fluid is provided.
