본 발명은 히드라진 대체의 휘발성 탈산소제로서, 폭넓은 조건 하에서 우수한 탈산소 효과를 갖는 탈산소제를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 탈산소제는 1-아미노-4-메틸피페라진 등의 N-치환 아미노기를 갖는 복소환식 화합물과, N,N-디에틸히드록시아민 등의 히드록실아민 화합물을 함유한다. 탈산소제는 피로갈롤 등의 다가 페놀계 촉매를 더 함유하여도 좋다. 이 탈산소제가 보일러 등의 수계의 급수에 첨가됨으로써 수계가 탈산소 처리된다.
