本発明の蛍光色素含有フレーク体は、酸化物マトリクスと、酸化物マトリクスを構成する金属元素に結合した疎水性有機基と、酸化物マトリクス中に分散された有機蛍光色素とを含む。このようなフレーク体は、ゾルゲル法によって製造することができる。ゾルゲル法において、加水分解可能な金属化合物として、金属元素に結合した疎水性有機基を有する金属化合物を用いるとよい。

Fluorescent dye-containing flakes of the present invention comprises an oxide matrix, a hydrophobic organic group bonded to a metal element included in the oxide matrix and an organic fluorescent dye dispersed in the oxide matrix. Such flake material can be prepared by a sol-gel method. In sol-gel method, a hydrolyzable metal compound is preferably used a metal compound having a hydrophobic organic group bonded to a metal element.
