移動手摺補修装置は、自走手段と、自走手段に搭載された加熱手段とを有している。自走手段は、乗客コンベアの欄干上を移動手摺の長手方向に沿って走行する。加熱手段は、移動手摺の表面部を加熱溶融させる。移動手摺の表面部は、熱可塑性材料からなっている。移動手摺の表面部が損傷した場合、表面部の補修すべき目的箇所を加熱溶融させた後、目的箇所を再硬化させる。

Moving handrail repair device includes a self-propelled means, and heating means mounted on the self-propelled unit. Self means travels along the upper balustrade of a passenger conveyor in the longitudinal direction of the handrail. Heating means, thereby heating and melting the surface portion of the moving handrail. The surface portion of the moving handrail is made from a thermoplastic material. If the surface portion of the moving handrail is damaged, after heating and melting the target site to be repaired of the surface portion, thereby re-hardening the target site.
