NEW MATERIAL:Mannostatin of formula (n is 0 or 1) and its S-oxide. USE:alpha-D-mannosidase inhibitor. PREPARATION:The compound of formula can be produced by inoculating the spore or mycelium of the strain ME3-AG3 (FERM-P No.7299) belonging to Streptomyces genus (an actinomycete) capable of producing the compound of formula in a nutrient medium, and culturing under aerobic condition.
