PURPOSE:To obtain hand display stopwatch enabled in split display and capable of starting measurement during the return of hand, by outputting a motor drive signal in a cycle faster than a reference signal by a gate circuit when it is judged by a coincidence circuit that the contents of a latch circuit and the hand position counter are not coincided. CONSTITUTION:When the coincidence of a latch circuit 9 and a hand position counter 11 is released and a coincidence signal Ye outputted from a coincidence circuit 10 comes to ''L'', a quick sending signal phis is certainly outputted from a gate circuit 12 and hand 16 is quickly sent at 16Hz. Therefore, when the position of the hand is not coincided with a measuring time, a step motor is driven in a cycle faster than a reference signal until the position of the hand comes up with the measuring time. By the constitution as mentioned above, even in hand display stopwatch for displaying hand by a step motor, split display and start during the return of the hand are enabled.
