PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored polyester film having excellent concealing properties to a substrate metal plate also when used in a can wherein severe processing is required, which can be easily laminated to the metal plate, a colored polyester film-coated metal plate excellent in can making properties not generating the shaving or damaging and separation of a resin film when molded into a can, and a can using the colored polyester film-coated metal plate reduced in surface flaw after can molding processing. SOLUTION: A color pigment is added to the core layer of a three-layered film in an amt. of 10-60 wt.% and a color pigment is also added to a surface layer 1 and a rear layer 3 to form a colored polyester film wherein the films of the respective layers have an intrinsic viscosity of 0.5-1.3 or the three-layered film has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.5-1.3 as a whole and this colored polyester film 6 is applied to a metal plate.
