PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a large diameter caisson type pile reduced in pile length and reinforcements by connecting one side ends of a plurality of rod members provided protrusively on the peripheral natural ground to reinforcements arranged in the inside of the caisson type pile and then, placing concrete. SOLUTION: Shotcrete and rockbolts 5-1, 5-2, 5-3, 5-4,... are provided in turn while carrying out an excavating work of a ground. The front ends of the rockbolts 5-1, 5-2, etc., are used for anchorage parts 7 and mortar is placed. After excavation, deformed reinforcements 11, hook-shaped reinforcements 15, deformed reinforcements 19, etc., are arranged and joined to the rockbolts 5-1, 5-2, 5-3, etc., with mechanical joints 13, 17 and lap splices 21 respectively. Then, concrete 23 is placed in the excavated part to construct a caisson type pile 25 and bridge piers 27 are constructed on the upper side. Earth anchors or the like can be used instead of the rockbolts. In this way, a shearing resistance between the peripheral face of the caisson type pile 25 and the natural ground can be securely brought out and hence, a large diameter caisson type pile can be constructed.
