PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a splitting machine for non-ductile material which can control the stress acting on an inner wall face of a hole to the optimum value, can split a non-ductile material safely and with high precision, can be managed easily, and does not limit the use environment at the same time. SOLUTION: A splitting machine for non-ductile material 1 is provided with an ultramagnetic striction material 3, a coil 5 which is arranged around the ultramagnetic striction material 3 and applies a magnetic field to the ultramagnetic striction material 3, a pressurizing member 7 displaced due to the elongation of the ultramagnetic striction material 3, and a pressing member 11 pushed out in the direction of diameter expansion due to the displacement of the pressurizing member 7. The pressing member 11 is inserted into a hole of a non-ductile material and the ultramagnetic striction material 3 is elongated to expand a diameter of the pressing member 11 so that a pressing load acts on a hole wall.
