PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporator having a plurality of cavities which are fit for pipes of various sizes relating to a freezing device utilizing a refrigerant to freeze the contents of the pipes. SOLUTION: A refrigerant 36 circulates inside a device in a pressurized state, absorb heat from a pipe 12 as it flows through evaporators 24, 26 and freezes the contents in the pipe 12, and releases heat as it flows through a condenser 20. The evaporator 26 has four pipe-holding sides 44; the pipe-holding sides 44 have each a hollow surface differing in radius from the others and are capable of holding four pipes 12 differing in radius from one another.
