PURPOSE: To easily position a sleeve with respect to a transferred object and to place a film-like sleeve onto a bottle at high speed by supplying the lubricating gas film between the stretched sleeve and the transferred object. CONSTITUTION: Each bottle 16 is lifted upwardly by an elevator of one sleeve placing station, and inserted into a sleeve 20. When the bottle 16 is close to the stretched sleeve 20, each pressure chamber 116 is pressurized, and a lubricating gas film is supplied between the bottle 16 and the sleeve 20. On this occasion, as the frictional force between the stretched sleeve 20 and a pin structural element 108 is more than the frictional force between the bottle 16 and the sleeve 20, the movement of the bottle 16 in the sleeve 20 can be kept on a correct position. Accordingly the sleeve 20 can be quickly operated, and easily placed around a pin assembly of the pin structural element 108, and the sleeve 20 can be continuously placed.
