The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a sulfide solid electrolyte that is capable of maintaining lithium ion conductivity and inhibiting generation of hydrogen sulfide gas; and an electrode composite material, a slurry, and a battery that use the sulfide solid electrolyte. In order to achieve the purpose, provided is a sulfide solid electrolyte containing the element lithium (Li), the element phosphorus (P), the element sulfur (S), at least one halogen (X) element, and a metal (M) element having a first ionization energy of more than 520.2 KJ/mol but less than 1007.3 KJ/mol, and including a crystal phase having a peak at the positions where 2θ = 25.19° ± 1.00° and 29.62° ± 1.00° in an X-ray diffraction pattern as measured using CuKα1 rays.
