PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and a sheet process control method which can always realize a constant reverse rotation brake effect and a complete stop, even if a reverse rotation brake signal application time of a motor is not variable for a long time use or for load fluctuations of respective apparatuses. SOLUTION: This imaging device controls a motor, by using a rotation/-stop instruction signal which controls operation/non-operation of the motor, a forward rotation/reverse rotation signal which controls the rotation direction of the motor, and a no brake/short brake signal with controls to keep a motor rotor free or to short-circuit and fix a stator coil. The motor rotation/stoppage instruction signal transmitted to the motor is used as the forward rotation/reverse rotation signal, a signal behind of the forward rotation/reverse rotation signal by a first predetermined set time is used as the no brake/short brake signal. A signal delayed from the no brake/short brake signal by a second predetermined set time is used as the start/stop signal.
