To provide a method of producing an organic silanol compound suppressed in generation of hydrogen, and high in yield.SOLUTION: A method of producing an organic silanol compound represented by general formula (3) includes using at least one kind of dehydrators selected from magnesium sulfate, sodium sulfate, molecular sieve, and the like in a reaction of a silyl compound represented by general formula (1) with an alkali metal hydroxide compound and the like. In the formula (1) and the formula (3), R1 to R3 are C1-10 hydrocarbon groups; R4 is -OSiR5R6R7 (R5 to R7 are C1-10 hydrocarbon groups), -OR8 (R8 is a C1-10 hydrocarbon group), or X (X is a halogen atom); M is an alkali metal or an alkali earth metal; and n is 1 when M is an alkali metal, and 2 when an alkali earth metal.SELECTED DRAWING: None
