To provide an airtight terminal which can completely block intrusion of oil having low electric insulating property and whose current-carrying part is prevented from coming into contact with refrigerant/oil, and to provide a motor-driven compressor and a method for sealing a wiring part of the airtight terminal.SOLUTION: An airtight terminal includes: a lead member formed of a conductive material, an outer ring base which holds the lead member; an insulating material which insulates between the lead member and the outer ring base; and a cover member composed of an electric insulating material having the refrigerant resistance and the oil resistance fixed to at least one side of the outer ring base.
