To improve cleanability for a cap and a wiping member.SOLUTION: A head maintenance device 60 includes cleaning means 80 which cleans a suction cap 61 and a wiper 63. The cleaning means has a suction member 81. The suction member is movable to a position where the suction member can be brought into contact with an abutting surface 61a and an inside wall surface 61b of the suction cap and a position where the suction member can be brought into contact with the wiper. The wiper is cleaned by raising the wiper and moving the suction member. The abutting surface and the inside wall surface of the suction cap are cleaned by raising the suction cap and moving the suction member. As for the cleaning means, the suction cap, and the wiper, the suction cap and the wiper are arranged across the cleaning means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
