To provide an OPGW (optical fiber composite overhead ground wire) that does not worsen the efficiency of connection work between optical fibers and can prevent a micro-bending loss of the optical fibers.SOLUTION: An OPGW 1 houses an optical fiber unit 6 made of a plurality of optical fibers 5 inside an optical fiber protector 14. The optical fiber protector 14 has: a plurality of metallic linear beam members 15 extending along a wiring direction; and a plurality of metallic ring members 16 arranged at intervals along the wiring direction and fixed to the linear beam members 15, wherein a plurality of gaps 17 that allow passage of water are provided along the wiring direction.
