To provide a tabular body support device that can be utilized for glass substrate support means or the like which is provided in a cassette for housing, storing and conveying a large-size glass substrate laminatedly.SOLUTION: A tabular body support device 9 comprises a cantilever-like support member 11 whose base part is attached to a support member 17 outside a support space where a tabular body G is supported horizontally and whose tip extends horizontally into the support space, and wires 12 stretched across the base part and the tip of the cantilever-like support member 11, which is configured to suppress torsional deformation that a free end of the cantilever-like support member 11 hangs down, using tension of the wires 12. The wires 12 are stretched horizontally, above the uppermost surface in the support space of the cantilever-like support member 11, and the wires 12 support the tabular body G.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
