Aspects of the present disclosure may include, for example, a transponder device having a first coupler for extracting a downstream channel signal from the first inductive electromagnetic wave which is coupled to a transmission medium of the induced wave communication system. Amplifier amplifies the downstream channel signal to generate an amplified downstream channel signal. Channel selection filter, select one or more amplified downstream channel signals, and wirelessly transmits the at least one client device via the antenna. The second coupler is to induce an amplified downstream channel signal to the transmission medium of the induced wave communication systems, it propagates as a second induction electromagnetic wave. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
