PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a folding process at a small transport path length and make an apparatus small in size.SOLUTION: A paper sheet processing apparatus comprises: a first transport member F1 transporting a paper sheet P along a first transport path W1; and a second transport member F2 receiving the paper sheet transported by the first transport member F1, and transporting the paper sheet to a rear stage. In a state in which the paper sheet P is held by the first transport member F1 and the second transport member F2, the second transport member F2 is rotated in an opposite direction, and the paper sheet P is folded by a pair of a second transport roller R3 and a third transport roller R4 of the second transport member F2. Furthermore, a fourth transport roller R5 that forms a pair with the second transport roller R3 is provided downstream of the pair of the second transport roller R3 and the third transport roller R4, and the folded paper sheet P is folded by the pair of the second transport roller R3 and the fourth transport roller R5. A folding process such as Z fold, outward three fold or inward three fold can be performed only with the paired transport rollers.
