PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide additives which improve the cold flow behavior of base fuel and oil compositions containing one or more n-alkyl-, iso-alkyl- or n-alkenyl-substituted compounds, especially one or more n-alkanes, which adversely affect the cold flow behaviour of the base fuel or oil.SOLUTION: A concentrate is provided containing a diblock copolymer comprising: (i) a first block which consists of a chain of ethylenic structural units, optionally interrupted by one or more structural units derived from 1-alkene co-monomers higher than ethylene, and (ii) a second block which comprises a chain of structural units derived from one or more α,β-unsaturated monomers selected from styrene, substituted styrene, acrylate, methacrylate and diene compounds. The concentrate serves as an effective additive for improving the cold flow behavior of fuels and oils. The copolymer is derived from a terminally-unsaturated intermediate obtained via a metallocene process involving hydrogen.
