PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the disadvantages of the state of the art and to make available compounds that are more soluble and have the same or an improved catalytic property profile and/or make available a direct synthesis, which yields the desired isomer with the use of surprising synergistic effects of alternative bridging concepts, suitable ligand substitution patterns, and ligand substituents, and at the same time is able to dispense with the large number of reaction steps and, in addition, produce a decisive economic advantage, and to provide supported metallocene catalysts using such substituted and bridged metallocenes and to provide an environmentally friendly and economical process for preparing polyolefins under industrially relevant polymerization conditions using the catalyst systems of this invention.SOLUTION: A catalyst system contains a metallocene compound having the formula RLLMRR, where Ris a bridge between ligands Land L, Mis a metal of Group IVB of the Periodic Table such as titanium, zirconium and hafnium, Rand Rare hydrogen or may be an aliphatic group or an aromatic group, and bridge Rmay contain silicon, germanium or stannum. The metallocene compound of the invention at time of synthesis has a ratio of racemic isomers to meso isomers of greater than 15:1 and therefore eliminates the need for the subsequent separation of meso isomers.
