PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel treated pigments for use in polymer matrices, and methods of treating pigmentary bases by using one or more organo-phosphoric acid compounds and/or their salts in order to form the treated pigments.SOLUTION: The pigments contain titanium dioxide. The titanium dioxide is treated with organo-phosphoric acid compounds of the formula R'-POwith n=4-14, where each R' is a C2-C22 organic group or hydrogen; in each molecule, any two or more of the R' groups may be identical; and at least one of the R' groups is not hydrogen. The content of the organo-phosphoric acid compounds is about 0.01 wt.% to about 5 wt.% based on the weight of the titanium dioxide.
