PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for preventing a crack in a ruled line, which can be used for a paper board having sizing properties and reduced weight, does not lower paper strength, and shows superior effect of preventing the crack in the ruled line even in such a condition that a moisture percentage of the paper board is reduced under a low temperature and low humidity environment.SOLUTION: The agent for preventing the crack in the ruled line contains: at least one water-absorbing polymer binder selected from the group consisting of proteins, polysaccharide, a guar gum derivative, a cellulose derivative, polyethylene oxide, polyvinyl alcohol and a carboxyvinyl polymer; and at least one humectant selected from the group consisting of polyhydric alcohol, amino acids, betaines and sodium lactate.
