PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical crusher which can prevent both of the abrasion of a hopper and the deposition of coarse particles in the hopper.SOLUTION: In a vertical crusher having a crushing mechanism which obtains solid particles by crushing an object to be crushed by the engagement between a crushing roller or a crushing ball and a grinding table, a classification mechanism having a classifier for classifying the crushed solid particles and a hopper (11) which collects coarse particles which are classified by the classifier and fall down and leads the coarse particles to the crushing mechanism, a raw material supply pipe (1) which charges the object to be crushed to the grinding table, and housings (43a and 43b), when the boundary between the reverse circular cone body and the cylindrical body of the hopper is a standard position, the distance from the standard position to the upper end of the hopper is L, and the distance from the standard position to the lower end (1a) of the raw material supply pipe is L', the raw material supply pipe is installed in the hopper to satisfy the relation of 0.15≤L'/L ≤0.5.
