Manganese dry cell according to the present invention comprises the positive electrode mixture, the negative electrode can containing zinc, isolation layer disposed between the positive electrode mixture and the negative electrode can, and an electrolytic solution containing manganese dioxide. Nickel content in the positive electrode material mixture is 0.04 wt% or less of sodium content in the electrolytic solution is 0.8 wt% or less. The present invention, decrease in battery voltage during storage is suppressed, excellent storage characteristics, provides a highly reliable manganese dry battery.
