PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lubrication failure in a sliding part of a rotary compression mechanism by restraining oil discharge of a lubricating oil in the rotary compression mechanism in a compressor storing the rotary compression mechanism and a motor in a casing.SOLUTION: A motor (30) is composed of an electric motor (30) of axial gap type with a rotor (37) and a stator (42) disposed facing in the axial direction of a rotary shaft (20). A rotary compression mechanism (50) and the stator (42) on the lower side are disposed facing with each other with an interval provided in the axial direction of the rotary shaft (20) to form an internal space part (S1) between the rotary compression mechanism (50) and the stator (42) on the lower side. The rotary compression mechanism (50) is provided with a discharge opening (2) for discharging a refrigerant compressed in the rotary compression mechanism (50) to the inner wall surface (11a) of a casing (11) facing the internal space part (S1).
