PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a length of a journal by removing offset of a cylinder.SOLUTION: A reciprocation can be converted into a rotational movement via a crankshaft and a connecting rod. Out of the connecting rods on which a tensional force is mainly applied, two opposing connecting rods 100a, 100b can be connected to one journal 96. Two bearing caps 102a, 102b are placed on the journal. The bearing caps with fingers 108a, 108b extending in part separated from the bearings including fingers 104a, 104b of the two bearing caps 102a, 102b are meshed. Each of the bearing fingers are connected to the connecting rods 100a, 100b. A joint comes to have the journal 96 shorter than a conventional joint, and is compact and lightweitght.
